Bodegas Vallobera Crianza Rioja

Bodegas Vallobera is a family-owned estate rooted in Rioja Alavesa, the northern and slightly cooler subzone of Rioja. Protected by the Sierra Cantabria mountains, this area benefits from Atlantic influence, which brings freshness and aromatic lift to Tempranillo.

The Crianza classification in Rioja requires a minimum of 24 months aging, including at least 12 months in oak. At Vallobera, oak maturation is carefully balanced to enhance complexity without masking fruit character. The winery focuses on estate vineyards with limestone-clay soils, contributing natural acidity, fine tannin structure, and mineral tension.

Compared to warmer Rioja Oriental styles, Rioja Alavesa wines tend to be more structured, fresher, and slightly more aromatic—less about softness, more about precision and elegance.
