Caliterra Pétreo Carménère is a stunning showcase of Chile’s flagship red grape, expressing both power and purity. The name “Pétreo” means “of stone”, reflecting the rocky soils and rugged landscapes of the Colchagua Valley, where the vines struggle, dig deep, and yield grapes of remarkable concentration and minerality.
Caliterra, founded in 1996 as a partnership between Robert G. Mondavi and Viña Errázuriz, was built on a single vision — to create world-class wines that embody the balance of quality (Calidad) and land (Tierra). The estate follows sustainable viticulture, allowing nature to speak clearly through each vintage.
The Carménère grapes come from select hillside plots in Apalta, known for their granite and colluvial soils. After fermentation, the wine is aged in French oak barrels and concrete eggs to achieve perfect harmony between fruit expression, texture, and minerality.
