A Return to the Peak of Saint‑Julien
Founded long ago in the Médoc region of Bordeaux, the estate now known as Château Ducru‑Beaucaillou has been in the hands of the Borie family since 1941. Over recent decades under Bruno Borie’s leadership the focus has sharpened on ultra‑select vineyard parcels, much lower yields and fully new oak ageing to elevate the Grand Vin above even its illustrious heritage.
The 2019 vintage combines ideal late‑season conditions with this rigorous regime: warm summer days followed by cooler nights extended ripening and allowed full maturity of Cabernet Sauvignon, resulting in deep colour, powerful tannins and exceptional concentration.
This wine exemplifies the estate’s modern ambition: a Saint‑Julien that commands respect for its muscular structure but retains elegance and ageing potential for decades to come.
