This has a really tightly wound ball of fine tannins. Tight, so formed and intense. Really great. Blackberries, black truffles, dark mushrooms and dried flowers. Chewy, yet so integrated and refined. Super wine from here. Try after 2026.

Château Latour à Pomerol is one of the historic estates of Pomerol, owned by Établissements Jean-Pierre Moueix, the family behind several of Bordeaux's most celebrated Right Bank properties. Situated on the renowned Pomerol plateau, the estate shares the same exceptional gravel and blue clay terroir that has made the appellation famous for producing some of the world's greatest Merlot-based wines.
The vineyards are planted predominantly with Merlot, complemented by a small proportion of Cabernet Franc. The deep clay soils naturally regulate water availability during the growing season, allowing the vines to produce grapes with exceptional concentration while maintaining freshness and aromatic complexity.
The 2019 vintage is widely regarded as one of Bordeaux's finest in recent decades. A warm, dry growing season combined with cool nights produced grapes of outstanding ripeness, concentration, and balance. After hand harvesting, each parcel was vinified separately before aging in French oak barrels, allowing the wine to develop remarkable structure while preserving its elegant fruit.
The result is a classic Pomerol—rich, silky, and deeply complex, with exceptional aging potential.
