เนื้อหาสินค้า

Chateau Montelena is a cornerstone of Napa Valley history, established in 1882 by Alfred Tubbs at the base of Mount Saint Helena. The estate is characterized by its gothic stone castle and the tranquil Jade Lake, a legacy of the property’s mid-century owners. While the winery gained global immortality for its victory in the 1976 Judgment of Paris, it has remained a family-owned icon under the Barrett family since 1972. The first wine released under Jim Barrett's leadership was a 1972 Riesling, marking the variety as a foundational part of the winery's modern revival and a testament to its long-standing commitment to diverse expressions of Napa Valley terroir.

The winemaking philosophy at Chateau Montelena emphasizes integrity and a "non-template" approach that prioritizes the unique character of each vintage and site. Their Riesling is sourced from vineyards that benefit from the complex soil profiles of the northern Napa Valley, where volcanic, alluvial, and loamy soils converge. Winemaker Matt Crafton follows a minimalist intervention style, avoiding heavy oak or manipulations to allow the pure fruit and bright acidity to shine. By focusing on balance and precision rather than following fleeting trends, Chateau Montelena crafts a Riesling that is both elegant and structured, reflecting the high standards and storied heritage of the estate.
