Château Montrose is one of the crown jewels of Saint-Estèphe, classified as a 2ème Grand Cru Classé in the prestigious 1855 Bordeaux Classification. Known as one of the most “precise and muscular” wines of the Left Bank, Montrose carries a legacy of depth and distinction.
Its vineyards are perched on prime gravelly soils overlooking the Gironde River, which not only provides excellent drainage but also reflects sunlight back onto the vines, helping the grapes reach optimal ripeness. In recent decades, the estate has undergone a complete renaissance under the Bouygues family, who brought modern precision and an uncompromising commitment to quality that continues to honor Montrose’s legendary heritage.
