Château Moulin Riche is located in the renowned Saint-Julien appellation of Bordeaux’s Médoc region. The estate is closely connected to Château Léoville Poyferré, one of the famous Second Growth estates from the 1855 Bordeaux Classification.
Historically, the vineyards of Moulin Riche were once part of the Léoville estate before being separated and developed into its own label. The gravel-rich soils of Saint-Julien—formed from ancient river deposits of the Gironde estuary—are particularly suited to Cabernet Sauvignon, allowing grapes to ripen slowly while maintaining structure and aromatic complexity.
The wine is produced using traditional Bordeaux methods, with careful blending of classic Médoc grape varieties. Aging in oak barrels enhances depth and adds layers of spice, tobacco, and cedar, resulting in a wine that reflects the elegance and aging potential associated with Saint-Julien.
