Clerico Arte

Domenico Clerico is a legendary figure in Piedmont, having established his estate in Monforte d'Alba in 1976 with just four hectares of land inherited from his father. As a prominent member of the Barolo Boys, Clerico was a pioneer of the modern winemaking movement, breaking from tradition to experiment with new technologies and French oak to better express the unique character of his vineyard sites. Today, the estate spans 21 hectares of prime Monforte d'Alba terroir, characterized by ancient marl and marine sediment soils that produce wines with significant structure, rich fruitiness, and soft tannins.

The Arte bottling is a unique expression of this philosophy, showcasing Clerico's commitment to innovation and terroir transparency. Sourced from estate vineyards in the Langhe, this wine is crafted by vinifying varieties separately to ensure each reaches its full potential before being masterfully blended. The winemaking process focuses on balancing intense black cherry and plum flavors with refined French oak structure and vibrant acidity. This approach results in a soft yet structured red that captures the elegance and power of the Monforte d'Alba region, continuing Domenico's legacy of excellence and forward-thinking craftsmanship.
