Condado de Haza is the Ribera del Duero estate project of the Fernández Rivera family, founders of Pesquera—one of the pioneering names behind the modern prestige of Ribera del Duero. The estate sits along the Duero River, where high-altitude vineyards (around 800–900 meters) shape Tempranillo with natural concentration and tension.
Ribera del Duero’s continental climate brings hot summers and very cold winters, with wide day–night temperature variation. This diurnal shift allows full ripening while preserving acidity—key to balancing the region’s powerful fruit profile.
As a Crianza, the wine undergoes a minimum of 24 months aging (including at least 12 months in oak), typically in American oak barrels. The oak influence frames the fruit with spice and structure without overwhelming its core intensity. The style is classic Ribera—firm, dark, and built around depth rather than softness.
