Condado de Haza is the Ribera del Duero estate of the Fernández Rivera family, founders of Pesquera—one of the producers that helped elevate Ribera into Spain’s elite wine regions in the late 20th century.
The estate vineyards sit between 800–900 meters above sea level along the Duero River. This high-altitude continental climate delivers intense sunlight during the day and cold nights, allowing Tempranillo (locally called Tinto Fino) to reach full phenolic ripeness while preserving acidity and structure.
As a Reserva, the wine undergoes extended aging—minimum 36 months total maturation, including at least 12 months in oak (often longer in practice). The prolonged oak and bottle development deepen complexity, refine tannins, and add tertiary nuance.
The style is unmistakably Ribera: more structured and powerful than most Rioja equivalents, emphasizing concentration, grip, and longevity.
