Coppo, one of Piedmont’s historic producers since 1892, is best known for elevating Barbera, yet its interpretation of Barolo DOCG reflects equal respect for tradition and terroir. Sourced from select vineyards within the Barolo zone, this wine showcases the noble character of Nebbiolo, one of Italy’s most revered grape varieties.
Barolo is often called the “King of Wines,” known for its structure, longevity, and complexity. The region’s unique combination of calcareous soils, foggy mornings, and warm days allows Nebbiolo to develop intense aromatics alongside powerful tannins and high acidity.
Coppo’s approach balances tradition with modern precision—careful maceration, controlled fermentation, and aging in oak to soften tannins while preserving the wine’s identity. The result is a Barolo that remains true to its roots—structured and serious—yet more approachable in its youth compared to more austere styles.
This is a wine of patience and reward—evolving beautifully over time, revealing layers of flavor and depth with age.
