Domaine Hubert Lignier Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru

Hubert and Laurent Lignier, father & son manages 9 hectares and make 24 wines (Bourgogne, Village, Premier and Grand Cru appellations). The vineyards are ploughed sinced 1990s, excluding weedkiller and insecticides. The 'climat' and great terroirs’ soils are firmly respected in order to favour micro-organism and therefore the essential balance for the vine’s growth.

Since 2011, the organic protective treatments were used for vinifications and ageing, their methods are little interventionist. The fruit’s quality is essential to craft 24 great wines. Wines are fresh, fine and elegant, which are also full bodied with a long lasting, mouth-watering finish. Each terroirs express themselves through the wines. Although, ageing in barrels (20 to 30% new oak) are rather long (20 or 22 months), on lees and without racking after malolactic fermentation. The wines are bottled using gravity without fining, in order to keep the wine’s freshness and its ageing potential.
