Domaine Mont D'Or Valais Siccus Johannesberg

Domaine du Mont d'Or is one of Switzerland's oldest and most respected wineries, located in the heart of the Valais wine region. Founded in 1848, the estate is renowned for producing terroir-driven wines from indigenous and traditional grape varieties grown on the steep alpine slopes overlooking the Rhône Valley.

Siccus Johannisberg is produced from Sylvaner, a variety traditionally known as Johannisberg in Valais. The name Siccus, meaning "dry" in Latin, reflects the wine's crisp, dry style. The vineyards are planted on sun-drenched terraces with limestone and schist soils, where the Alpine climate provides warm days, cool nights, and low rainfall, allowing the grapes to achieve excellent ripeness while preserving freshness and minerality.

The grapes are gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve their delicate fruit aromas and vibrant natural acidity. The result is a refined white wine that combines ripe orchard fruit with floral notes and the unmistakable mineral character of Valais.
