Produced by Joseph Mellot, one of the historic families of the Loire Valley with a winemaking legacy dating back to the 16th century. The Mellot family has long been associated with some of the finest expressions of Sancerre, a region celebrated worldwide for its pure and mineral-driven Sauvignon Blanc.
“L’Original” represents the authentic character of Sancerre. The vineyards sit on classic Loire soils composed of limestone, clay, and flint (silex), which contribute to the wine’s distinctive minerality and freshness.
Careful vineyard management and cool fermentation help preserve the vibrant aromatics of Sauvignon Blanc while maintaining balance and precision. The result is a wine that reflects the elegance and purity that define the best wines of Sancerre.
