Journey's End Vineyards is a boutique winery located on the Schapenberg Hills in Stellenbosch, overlooking False Bay. Benefiting from cooling Atlantic breezes and sustainably farmed vineyards, the estate is renowned for producing elegant, terroir-driven wines that balance Old World finesse with New World fruit purity.
V1 Chardonnay represents the purest expression of Journey's End's cool-climate vineyards. The fruit is sourced from carefully selected Chardonnay vineyards where maritime influence and decomposed granite soils allow the grapes to ripen slowly, preserving vibrant acidity while developing exceptional aromatic complexity.
The grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed before fermentation, with a portion fermented and matured in French oak barrels while the remainder is vinified in stainless steel. Lees aging adds texture and subtle complexity, allowing the wine to achieve richness without sacrificing freshness or precision.
The result is an elegant, mineral-driven Chardonnay that combines ripe orchard fruit, restrained oak, and lively acidity, showcasing the refined style for which Journey's End is known.
