Otronia is one of Argentina’s most ambitious cool-climate wine projects, located deep in Patagonia near the 45th parallel south—an isolated region shaped by relentless winds, extreme temperatures, and untouched natural landscapes. “45 Rugientes” takes its name from the powerful “Roaring Forties” winds that define this remote terroir and influence every aspect of vineyard life.
The vineyards are planted in Sarmiento, Chubut, one of the southernmost wine-growing regions in the world. Here, intense sunlight, strong winds, and dramatic day-to-night temperature shifts create wines with remarkable freshness, tension, and aromatic precision. The harsh conditions naturally reduce yields, concentrating flavor while preserving elegance.
The Pinot Noir is crafted with a Burgundian-inspired philosophy focused on purity, balance, and terroir expression. Gentle extraction and carefully integrated oak aging allow the wine to showcase the delicate character of the grape rather than overpowering it with heaviness.
The result is a sophisticated and vibrant Pinot Noir—combining bright fruit, mineral energy, and silky structure in a style that feels both modern and deeply connected to Patagonia’s rugged landscape.
