Pares Balta Mas Irene red

Parés Baltà Mas Irene is a tribute to both the land of Penedès and to the women who have shaped the winery’s modern identity. Produced by the Cusiné family, who have owned Parés Baltà since 1790, this estate is among Spain’s pioneers in organic and biodynamic viticulture, located just southwest of Barcelona.

The wine is named “Mas Irene” in honor of Irene Cusiné, one of the women winemakers of the family, representing balance between strength and elegance. It blends Merlot and Cabernet Franc, cultivated in high-altitude vineyards that overlook the Mediterranean. Cool nights and mineral-rich limestone soils lend purity and freshness to the grapes.

After fermentation, the wine is aged for 13 months in French oak barrels, developing a complex structure while preserving vibrant fruit. The result is a red that feels both Bordeaux-inspired and deeply Mediterranean — lush yet poised, modern yet soulful.
