Rainoldi Sfurzat di Valtellina DOC is a jewel of northern Italy — born where the Alps meet the skies and Nebbiolo takes on a new dimension of power and grace.
Produced by Casa Vinicola Rainoldi, founded in 1925 in the heart of Valtellina (Lombardy), this wine embodies the heritage of heroic viticulture. The steep terraced vineyards, perched on granite slopes overlooking the Adda River, are tended entirely by hand — a labor of devotion and respect for nature.
The term “Sfurzat” (from sforzare, “to push”) refers to the ancient practice of appassimento — allowing Nebbiolo grapes to dry naturally for about 3 months after harvest. This concentration intensifies aromas, sugars, and tannins before the wine undergoes long aging in French oak barrels.
The result is a wine of remarkable richness and refinement — combining the depth of Amarone with the elegance of Nebbiolo, shaped by the crisp mountain air of Valtellina.
