Selbach-Oster is a historic Mosel estate rooted in traditional Riesling craftsmanship. The Mosel is one of the coolest classic wine regions in the world, known for its dramatic steep vineyards planted on Devonian slate soils.
“Incline” refers to the region’s iconic steep slopes, where vines are often planted at extreme angles to maximize sunlight exposure in this marginal climate. These slopes encourage slow ripening, preserving acidity while developing aromatic clarity.
Unlike the off-dry Kabinett style often associated with Mosel, the “Incline” Dry is fermented to dryness. The result is a wine that emphasizes structure, minerality, and linearity over sweetness, highlighting the precision of Mosel terroir.
Cool climate conditions and slate soils combine to create a Riesling that is energetic, food-friendly, and age-worthy in its dry expression.
