Produced by Weingut Selbach-Oster, one of the respected family estates along the Middle Mosel, “Incline” references the dramatic steep slopes (Steillagen) that define the region’s viticulture. These vineyards, often planted on blue and grey Devonian slate soils, capture sunlight efficiently while preserving freshness in Germany’s cool climate.
“Feinherb” is a traditional Mosel term indicating a wine that sits between dry (Trocken) and medium-sweet—technically off-dry, but defined more by balance than sugar level. In practice, the residual sugar is carefully counterbalanced by high natural acidity, creating a wine that tastes refreshing rather than sweet.
The Mosel’s cool climate and long ripening season allow Riesling to develop aromatic intensity at moderate alcohol levels, often around 10–11.5%, enhancing its elegance and drinkability.
