Vega Sicilia is widely recognized as Spain's most iconic wine estate and one of the world's great fine wine producers. Valbuena 5° is often described as the purest expression of the Vega Sicilia philosophy. The name refers to the wine's traditional maturation period of approximately five years between barrel and bottle before release. While Único remains the estate's ultimate flagship, Valbuena is considered the heart of the estate—offering remarkable complexity while remaining more approachable in its youth.

The 2020 vintage reflects Vega Sicilia's commitment to precision and balance. Produced primarily from Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) grown on the estate's finest parcels, with a small proportion of Merlot, the wine showcases the unique terroir of Ribera del Duero. The region's continental climate, limestone-rich soils, and significant day-to-night temperature variation contribute concentration, freshness, and structure.
