Villa Wolf was established in 1756 and is one of the historic wineries of Germany's Pfalz region. Since 1996, the estate has been owned and revitalized by acclaimed winemaker Ernst Loosen, whose philosophy emphasizes sustainable viticulture, minimal intervention, and the authentic expression of vineyard terroir.
Villa Wolf Pinot Gris (Grauburgunder) is sourced from carefully selected vineyards across the Pfalz, one of Germany's warmest wine regions. The combination of abundant sunshine, cool evening temperatures, and sandstone and limestone-rich soils allows the grapes to achieve full ripeness while preserving vibrant acidity and aromatic freshness.
The grapes are gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks to retain their bright fruit character and natural purity. By avoiding excessive oak influence, the wine showcases the elegance, freshness, and mineral precision that have made German Pinot Gris increasingly respected worldwide.
The result is a beautifully balanced white wine that combines ripe orchard fruit, refreshing acidity, and a silky texture, making it both versatile and highly food-friendly.
