Clos Pegase Winery planted Mitsuko’s Vineyard in Carneros to take advantage of the region’s maritime influence. Cooling fog from San Pablo Bay and steady afternoon breezes moderate ripening, allowing Pinot Noir to develop aromatic complexity while retaining natural acidity.

Carneros is widely regarded as one of California’s most suitable areas for Pinot Noir, thanks to its cooler temperatures compared to central Napa Valley. At Mitsuko’s Vineyard, careful canopy management and selective harvesting ensure balanced ripeness and concentration.

Fermentation emphasizes gentle extraction to preserve delicacy, followed by ageing in French oak to add subtle spice and structure without masking the fruit. The resulting Pinot Noir reflects purity, balance, and refined texture—approachable yet layered.
