Bruno Giacosa is a legendary figure in Italian winemaking, often referred to as the Genius of Neive. Representing the third generation of his family’s winemaking tradition in the Langhe, he began his journey at age fifteen, developing an unrivaled palate and an intimate knowledge of the region’s finest vineyards. For over half a century, his pursuit of perfection helped establish Piedmont as a premier global wine region. Today, his daughter Bruna continues this legacy, upholding her father’s commitment to capturing the purest expression of each distinguished site through a meticulous blend of traditional techniques and modern technology.
The estate’s winemaking philosophy is centered on minimal intervention, allowing the unique terroir of the Alba and Neive vineyards to speak through the wine. Sourced from 30 to 38-year-old vines with southwest exposure, the Barbera d'Alba reflects the complexity of the Langhe’s diverse soils. The process involves fermentation in stainless steel followed by 14 months of aging in large oak barrels to ensure a balanced, structured profile that emphasizes the grape’s natural acidity and vibrant red fruit. This approach ensures a serious and articulate wine that remains a benchmark for the variety, embodying the soul and precision of Piedmontese viticulture.
