Château d’Yquem is universally regarded as the world's greatest sweet wine estate and the only property classified as Premier Cru Supérieur in the historic 1855 Bordeaux Classification. Every bottle represents meticulous vineyard selection, multiple passes through the vineyard, and an uncompromising pursuit of perfection.
The 1986 vintage is a classic mature expression of Château d'Yquem. Produced from hand-selected botrytised grapes, the wine has benefited from decades of bottle aging, evolving from youthful tropical fruit into an extraordinary tapestry of dried fruits, honey, spice, beeswax, and roasted nuts.
The blend of Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc perfectly balances richness with freshness. Noble rot (Botrytis cinerea) concentrates the fruit, while the naturally high acidity ensures remarkable elegance and longevity. After nearly four decades, the wine continues to demonstrate why Château d'Yquem is considered one of the greatest collectible wines ever produced.
