Château d'Yquem 2020 is considered one of the outstanding recent vintages of this legendary estate. Compared with the elegant 2019, the 2020 offers greater richness, concentration, and textural depth while maintaining the hallmark freshness and precision that define Yquem. Layers of honey, apricot, tropical fruit, saffron, and citrus unfold with remarkable purity, supported by vibrant acidity that promises exceptional longevity. Built to age effortlessly for 50–80 years or more, it is a benchmark modern Sauternes and an essential bottle for collectors of the world's greatest sweet wines.

The 2020 d'Yquem presents a fresh bouquet with aromas of white fruits, orchard fruits and mango, complemented by a hint of spring flowers. It’s perfectly balanced and moderately weighted compared to other vintages, making it a tense, penetrating d’Yquem. Despite the challenges of the growing season and a brief harvest (which began on September 30th and concluded on October 12th), d'Yquem's team managed to produce a mere 40,000 bottles, a modest yield in recent years.

Château d’Yquem is universally recognized as the world's greatest sweet wine estate and remains the only château classified as Premier Cru Supérieur in the historic 1855 Bordeaux Classification. Every vintage is produced through an uncompromising selection process, where grapes affected by noble rot (Botrytis cinerea) are harvested by hand over multiple passes through the vineyard.
The 2020 vintage is one of the most impressive modern releases of Château d'Yquem. A warm and dry growing season, followed by ideal conditions for the development of noble rot, produced grapes with exceptional concentration, aromatic purity, and remarkable balance.
Produced primarily from Sémillon with Sauvignon Blanc, the wine combines luxurious richness with vibrant acidity. Fermentation and maturation in new French oak barrels add depth and texture while preserving the purity of the fruit and the signature freshness that defines Château d'Yquem.
Powerful yet impeccably balanced, the 2020 vintage is approachable in its youth but possesses the structure and concentration to evolve gracefully for many decades.
