Zuccardi Finca Los Membrillos Cabernet Sauvignon

Familia Zuccardi is internationally recognised for producing terroir-focused wines from Argentina’s Uco Valley. Finca Los Membrillos Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a historic vineyard on the eastern edge of Paraje Altamira, which Zuccardi began managing in 2008. Traditional furrow irrigation, carob-wood posts, and rows of quince trees—membrillos in Spanish—form part of the vineyard’s identity.

The vineyard lies at approximately 1,100 metres above sea level and features heterogeneous alluvial soils. Depending on the parcel, the profiles include sandy loam, clay and silt layers, and large stones coated with calcium carbonate. These conditions contribute structure, freshness, and a clear mineral dimension to the Cabernet Sauvignon.

The wine is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Fermentation takes place in unlined concrete vats with native yeasts, followed by maturation in a combination of French oak barrels and concrete vessels. This restrained élevage adds texture and complexity while preserving the vineyard’s fruit, herbal character, and mineral expression.
